On the third Saturday of every month we offer a Trap Neuter Return (TNR) Workshop for the public to educate them about the process. We teach them why TNR is the best solution and how to go about implementing it in their community. Attendees of the workshop receive several benefits, including a reduced surgery rate of $10 for every feral cat they bring in to the  clinic.

While the public pays $10 for every cat they bring in to be fixed, the actual cost to The Feline Fix is $40 per cat. That cost includes supplies, staff and overhead. We rely on donations from individuals and organizations to subsidize the difference. During the period between September 2011 and February 2012 the ASPCA has kindly provided funds to support this important program. Thank you ASPCA!

Here at The Feline Fix, we love National Feral Cat Day so much that this year we decided to celebrate it for an entire month! The Whittier Community Cat Crawl was a month long Trap Neuter Return project in the Whittier Neighborhood of Denver. Starting the first week of October we went door to door in the community distributing flyers about the project and asking residents to contact us about free roaming cats. We also offered a $10 special for people to bring in their own pet cats for spay/neuter surgery. In addition, we contacted churches, schools and the Whittier Neighborhood Association to let them know about the Community Cat Crawl.

Our final tally was 30 feral cats fixed and four pet cats fixed. Six of the cats were kittens who were taken to shelters where they were socialized and placed up for adoption. In addition, we educated hundreds of people about TNR and the importance of spay/neuter.
