Mission: To humanely control the homeless cat population by providing spay/neuter services for feral and stray cats.

In 2008, more than 24,000 cats were euthanized in Colorado simply because there weren’t enough homes for all of them. Unfortunately, we can’t adopt our way out of this problem. Spay/neuter is the only way to humanely solve the cat overpopulation problem. RMACA is a local nonprofit committed to providing affordable and accessible spay and neuter surgeries for individuals caring for cats.

Who We Are

Founded in 1991, Rocky Mountain Alley Cat Alliance (RMACA) is dedicated to humane population control for the Denver region’s cat population.  The Feline Fix, RMACA’s spay/neuter clinic, is the only high quality, high volume clinic in the area devoted to providing affordable spay/neuter services for feral, stray and owned cats.

What We Do

Traditionally RMACA spayed or neutered approximately 3,000 feral and stray cats annually. With The Feline Fix, our goal is to double the number of surgeries; and in doing so, humanely prevent up to 45,000 homeless kittens from being born each year.

RMACA also offers humane traps for loan, along with instructions for safely and effectively catching cats.  Our ambassador program provides TNR information and education to the public.

RMACA gives cat guardians the opportunity to stop cat overpopulation from happening in their own homes by offering affordable spay and neuter services four days a week, 50 weeks a year.

(We do not offer foster, adoption or relocation services.)

Why We Do It

Many of the 24,000 cats euthanized in 2008 were litters of  kittens. The only humane way to lower the numbers is through spaying and neutering. An unaltered female cat may become pregnant as early as five months of age, and bear 2-3 litters per year for her entire life. Every cat we spay will prevent as many as 200 more kittens from being born.
