Founded in 1991, Rocky Mountain Alley Cat Alliance (RMACA) collaborates with veterinarians, volunteers and local citizens to spay and neuter metro area feral and stray cats to prevent more kittens from living on the streets. RMACA is the only organization that specializes in non-lethal population control and hands-on assistance with feral and stray cats in Metro Denver.
RMACA spays and neuters approximately 3,000 feral and stray cats annually. This means that we prevent more than 50,000 kittens from being born – every year.
But, we don’t stop with spay and neuter services. We also manage feral cat colonies through our network of volunteers who feed, water and provide shelter for these cats. We treat injuries and illnesses whenever possible. And, we find forever families for tame stray cats and socialized feral kittens that we find through our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) work.
RMACA offers the following programs in the Denver Metro area:
Spay/Neuter Assistance
RMACA lends humane traps, offers “how-to” TNR guides and coordinates spay/neuter clinics for Denver Metro citizens managing small feral cat colonies.
Divine Feline:A Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic
For large colonies (15 or more cats), RMACA collaborates with Divine Feline to trap and sterilize feral cats – where they live.
Public Education
RMACA educates citizens via appearances at neighborhood association meetings and community events, and through our network of volunteers in the field.
Foster and Adoption Program
Tame stray cats, and socialized feral kittens, are placed into RMACA’s foster program until they are ready for adoption.
